It’s a strange and slightly pathetic thing when you think about it. Who really cares if I rode 4652’ of elevation on my mountain bike, or if Strava says I only rode 3509’? Strava is one part ego, and one part training.
It's a basic principle really... I want to know how far I rode and how much elevation was gained throughout said ride. The realities of several factors combine to make this endeavor more difficult than it should be.
I have now owned the 1UP rack system for about 6 months, and I have to say, with some minor quibbles aside, I still very much enjoy and love it. Within two weeks of getting the rack last year, we set off on an epic voyage to Moab, UT for a week of biking mayhem.
I have a drive and desire to do things myself, if at all possible. Especially car, house, and bike related. I have a drive and desire to do things myself, if at all possible. Especially car, house, and bike related. For many years, I regarded bicycle wheelbuilding and truing as an unlearnable black art.
